Integrated and sustainable preparation of functional nanocellulose via formic acid/choline chloride solvents pretreatment

چکیده

Formic acid/choline chloride (F-DES), one of high-efficiency deep eutectic solvents (DES) for lignocellulose pretreatment, has great potential in the production nanocellulose (NC). In this work, integrated preparation cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and nanofibrils (CNFs) was developed using F-DES pretreatment following ball milling. Then, properties resultant NC products (F-NC) were comprehensively investigated. The samples obtained from direct milling urea/choline (U-DES) plus (i.e. B-NC, U-NC, accordingly) used comparison. Characterization results showed that similar to U-DES, could effectively enhance fibrillation facilitate NC, yields (CNCs CNFs) over 95%. Yet, compared with B-NC F-NC surface ester groups had better ability stabilize oil/water interface further oil-in-water Pickering emulsion. addition, lower viscosity than U-DES. recovery rate reached 92% after three cycles, recycled without obvious increase reusability make whole process clean sustainable.

Preparation of Nanocellulose via Transition Metal Salt- Catalyzed Hydrolysis Pathway

Nanocellulose was successfully prepared from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) via nickel salt-catalyzed hydrolysis under mild reaction conditions of 45 °C for 15 min. The mild acid nickel salt-catalyzed hydrolysis was able to selectively depolymerize the amorphous regions of cellulose and retain its crystalline region, thus improving the crystallinity of the treated product at the nanoscale up ...

Preparation and Characterization of Nanocellulose Fibers from NaOH/Urea Pretreatment of Oil Palm Fibers

A facile method is reported to prepare nanocellulose fibers from oil palm trunk fibers. The fibers were pretreated 2 hours with NaOH/urea solution, and the fully swelled fibers were mechanically treated through highpressure homogenization to obtain nanocellulose. The nanocellulose fibers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), ther...

Solvents and sustainable chemistry

Solvents are widely recognized to be of great environmental concern. The reduction of their use is one of the most important aims of green chemistry. In addition to this, the appropriate selection of solvent for a process can greatly improve the sustainability of a chemical production process. There has also been extensive research into the application of so-called green solvents, such as ionic...

the effect of functional/notional approach on the proficiency level of efl learners and its evaluation through functional test

in fact, this study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any difference between the effect of functional/notional approach and the structural approaches to language teaching on the proficiency test of efl learners? 2. can a rather innovative language test referred to as "functional test" ge devised so so to measure the proficiency test of efl learners, and thus be as much reliable an...
